Blog Comments Off on Our “New Normal” World

As we are approaching the first few weeks of our new normal, in order to protect the health and safety of our valued clients, we have adjusted our business practice until further notice. At this time, we are conducting all mortgage consultations electronically via phone, video conferencing, email, and fax.

We are using highly encrypted tools for signing documents and collecting documents securely to protect our client’s privacy. Our transaction partners such as appraisers, realtors, and lawyers have also adjusted their way of doing business during these times.

Our appraisal partners are now only doing exterior inspections of homes and are requesting homeowners to provide detailed interior pictures of main living areas, bedrooms, and bathrooms etc.

The Law Society and Land Titles Office have also changed their requirements for registering new mortgages and transfer of titles. In the past, it was always a requirement for lawyers and notaries to have in-person meetings as an original signature was required in order to register; however, they have also modified their requirements during this time until further notice.

Realtors have also changed the way they show homes to prospective buyers by investing in virtual showing software or walking through homes with video to show layouts of homes.

The only partner that is unable to modify their usual practice is the home inspector at this time. They still need to enter homes in order to look for any issues or concerns with regards to purchasing a new property. My team and I will continue to work with you and are available for any of your mortgage needs at this time.
